Adoptable Dogs at the Valencia County Animal Shelter (February 2022)

Cheyenne Chavez Photography plans to photograph adoptable pets at the Valencia County Animal Shelter each month in 2022.

The hope is that fresh new photographs will help increase each pet’s chances of being adopted!

Just a few facts about the shelter for those who do not know:

The Valencia County Animal Shelter is located at 1209 Highway 314
Los Lunas, NM 87031.

It is one of the most overburdened shelters in the state of New Mexico.
They are a small shelter that serves several low-income and semi-rural municipalities within Valencia County, where the need is far greater than the shelter can house. Because of this, the shelter is often overflowing, putting dogs at risk of euthanasia through no fault of their own. (CLICK HERE to view shelter statistics).

The wonderful staff and volunteers of the shelter work tirelessly to get as many dogs adopted or transferred to no-kill rescues as possible, but again, the need is often too great.

When you adopt from the Valencia County Animal Shelter, you are quite literally saving innocent lives.
